321 stainless steel is basically a modified version of 304 stainless steel. The main difference between the two is the fivefold increase in carbon due to the addition of titanium. The addition of titanium helps prevent carbide precipitation during welding and high temperature changes. Regardless of the wonderful addition of titanium, 321 still has many of the same properties that make stainless steel in the 300 series so great. Common uses for 321 stainless steel are annealing, heavy-duty vehicle exhaust systems, firewalls, stack liners, aircraft components, and other high-temperature service equipment.
1. The gentle way to clean stainless steel is to simply wipe the surface with hot water and a clean soft cloth, then dry metal with another soft cloth to prevent water spots thoroughly. 2. If ordinary water leaves some dirt or grease, you can add a mild detergent to the water. 3. It can be soaked in soapy water and wiped with a mild sponge pad. Remember to rinse and dry the stainless steel after washing. 4. The grease can be dissolved by rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth. It's important to rinse off the alcohol and dry to give it a shiny metal finish. 5. Stubborn or burnt stains can be mixed with baking soda and water and wiped with a soft cloth.
